Keyword Research

Keyword research is the first step in any SEO campaign. We need to know the keywords and key phrases releveant to your business, that you want to rank higher for in the search engine results.

We use powerful tools to compile a list of potential key words and phrases that would be a good fit for your website. From this list, we look at the number of people searching for that term, and the amount of competition.

If you have a Barber Shop in Morecambe, it would be a good idea to target the search term 'barber shop morecambe'. You could, of course, target the phrase 'barber shop' which has a lot more people searching for it but the competition would be huge, and the majority of people making the search won't be anywhere near Morecambe.

Links from other websites, known in the SEO world as back links, show Google and other search engines that your website is authoritative and worth linking to. The links act as a business referal, or vote. If your website has links from a high-authority website, Google will see your page a valuable resource.

Website owners often make the mistake of buying back links or participating in link exchange schemes. These types of links are usually low quality and have little relevance to your website. Google is very good at working out which links are genuine, and which it should ignore. In the worst cases, Google will penalise your website for using such techniques.
